About Our Organization

Community Links & Human Empowerment Initiatives (CLHEI)is a non-governmental organization founded in 2006. We work with Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations to build resilience, create opportunities, and achieve sustainable self-reliance through community-driven solutions.

Yes. CLHEI is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, under registration number CAC/IT/N0 41255. We also hold ECOSOC consultative status and Observer Status to the UNFCCC.

Our work is primarily focused in the North Central and North East regions of Nigeria, with permanent offices in the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Nasarawa, and Adamawa states.

Our work is guided by four core values: Institutional Excellence, ensuring the highest professional standards; Collaborative Spirit, working together with positivity and respect; Equity and Inclusiveness, leaving no one behind; and Clear Accountability, operating with complete transparency.

Our Work & Impact

We support the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, including displaced families, women and girls, smallholder farmers, children, and youth. Our programs are designed to be inclusive and address the specific needs of each community.

Sustainability is at the core of our approach. We focus on community-owned solutions, building local capacity, and creating programs that build self-reliance rather than dependence on aid. We empower communities to lead their own development long after our direct involvement ends.

We use a robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework to track progress and measure results. This includes collecting baseline data, conducting regular field assessments, and producing detailed impact reports. We focus on both quantitative metrics (e.g., number of beneficiaries) and qualitative outcomes (e.g., stories of change).

We work across seven interconnected thematic areas: Agriculture, Education, Environment & Climate Change, Governance, Health, Humanitarian Response, and Peace & Security.

Donations & Transparency

Your donation is used directly to fund our programs. It can provide emergency food for a family, mental health support for a trauma survivor, climate-smart farming tools for a farmer, or educational materials for a child. We are committed to ensuring every contribution creates the maximum possible impact.

Yes, as a formally registered non-profit organization in Nigeria, all donations made to CLHEI are tax-deductible in accordance with national laws. We provide official receipts for all contributions.

We operate with complete financial openness. Our annual reports, which include audited financial statements, are available on our Resources page. We are accountable to our donors, our partners, and most importantly, the communities we serve.

Yes. While unrestricted donations give us the flexibility to respond where the need is greatest, you can specify a particular project or thematic area you wish to support. Please indicate your preference in the reference during a bank transfer or contact us for more information.
