OUR ORGANIZATION

We are Community Links & Human Empowerment Initiatives (CLHEI)

Since 2006, Community Links & Human Empowerment Initiatives (CLHEI)  has been at the forefront of community transformation in Nigeria.

Community Links and Human Empowerment Initiative (CLHEI) is a women-led, non-governmental organization committed to complementing government efforts by empowering individuals and communities at the grassroots level. Founded in January 2006 and formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on October 18, 2010 (CAC/IT/No 41255), CLHEI envisions a self-reliant society where people harness their inner potential to achieve sustainable development and improved livelihoods. The organization’s Unique Entity ID (UEI) is MEDAC5AM11F5

With a focus on community-driven development, CLHEI implements programs that target women, vulnerable groups, and displaced populations, fostering resilience and social inclusion. The organization operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning (Reg. No: MBNP/NGO-IC/1027/1), demonstrating its recognition and collaboration at the national level.

CLHEI holds ECOSOC consultative status, is an accredited entity under the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and enjoys Observer Status with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) affirming its alignment with global development and climate action frameworks.

As an active member of strategic networks such as the Civil Society Organizations – Benue (CSO-B), Civil Society Network on Migration and Development (CSONETMADE), Network against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL), and the Women in Humanitarian Response in Nigeria Initiative (WiHRiNI), CLHEI leverages partnerships to advance advocacy, humanitarian response, and sustainable development across Nigeria.

Over the years, CLHEI has demonstrated strong field presence across the North Central region of Nigeria notably in the FCT, Benue, and Nasarawa States, implementing impactful interventions that address the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), women, children, widows, and refugees. Through a blend of humanitarian action, livelihood support, and climate-responsive programming, CLHEI continues to champion inclusive growth, human dignity, and sustainable community transformation.
